Moody's: South Korea's GDP Growth Rate May Drop to 0.9% in Q2
Moody's analysis in a report indicated that South Korea's GDP growth rate may slow to 0.9% in the second quarter, down from 1.8% in the first quarter. The booming semiconductor industry driven by artificial intelligence will make exports, particularly semiconductor exports, a key driver once again. Domestic demand in South Korea is expected to remain weak, with only a slight improvement in consumption. High energy costs are exacerbating inflationary pressures, and government measures can only provide partial relief. The preliminary GDP figure for South Korea in the second quarter will be released on Thursday.
