Category Labs has announced the launch of a new consensus protocol, Cadence, which employs a Multi-Concurrent Proposer (MCP) mechanism. This allows multiple block proposers to participate in consensus concurrently, achieving extremely short block intervals. Testing data shows that in a simulated network based on 200 global nodes, the average time for final confirmation was 219 milliseconds, while the average time for speculative confirmation was 167 milliseconds. The team stated that with the integration of the BTX design in the cryptographic memory pool, Cadence represents a significant step in addressing MEV issues at the protocol layer.
